How to request deletion of your DoubleUp data

To request deletion of your account and all associated data, send an email to:

support@doubleup.co.za

Subject line: Data Deletion Request

Please send your request from the email address registered to your DoubleUp account so we can verify your identity.

What will be deleted

Upon a verified deletion request, we will permanently remove:

  • Your account profile and login credentials
  • All businesses and brand profiles associated with your account
  • All uploaded brand assets (images stored in our system)
  • Connected social account OAuth tokens (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)
  • Stored page and account identifiers linked to those connections
  • All content drafts, post copy, generated images, and scheduling data
  • Any related metadata and logs that can be attributed to your account

Identity verification

We verify deletion requests by confirming the email address matches a registered account. You must send your request from the email address associated with your DoubleUp account. We may ask a follow-up question to confirm your identity before proceeding.

Turnaround time

We will acknowledge your request within 2 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days of verification. You will receive a confirmation email once deletion is complete.

Some residual data may persist in encrypted backup systems for a short additional period before it is permanently purged as part of our routine backup rotation.

Disconnecting social accounts without deleting your account

If you only want to remove a connected Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn account — without deleting your DoubleUp account — you can do this directly from the business settings page inside the app. Click Disconnect next to the platform. This immediately removes the stored access token from our system.

You can also revoke DoubleUp’s access directly from each platform’s own settings:

  • Facebook/Instagram: Settings → Security & Login → Apps and Websites
  • LinkedIn: Settings → Data Privacy → Permitted Services
